Mysore is called the City of Palaces

Mysore is called the City of Palaces as a result of the number of palaces situated in the city, some of them are:Palaces in MysoreProminent Amba Vilas (Main Mysore Palace),Rajendra Vilas (also called the summer palace, situated on top of the Chamundi hills),Jaganmohana Palace,Jayalakshmi Vilas (now in the University of Mysore premises),Lalitha Mahal (now converted to a hotel).Other Chittaranjan Palace (now the Green Hotel, was also the Premier Studios),Cheluvamba Mansion (now in the CFTRI premises),Karanji Mansion (now the Postal Training Institute),Lokaranjan Mahal (next to the Mysore Zoo),Crawford Hall ( University Administrative Building).

The original main palace of Mysore was burnt down in 1897 and the present day structure was built over the same site. The present day Palace exibhits a mixture of architectural styles from Dravidian, Indo-Sarcenic, Roman and Oriental. Even though the Government of Mysore now maintains the Mysore palace, a small portion of the palace has been allocated for the erstwhile Royal family to live in.
The Jayalakshhmi Vilas Mansion, was constructed by Sri Chamaraja Wodeyar for his daughter Jayalakshammanni. The Jayalakshmi Vilas is now a museum dedicated to folk culture. A new gallery is being added for artefacts and collections of the Wodeyars of Mysore.
Mysore Dasara
Dasara is the Nadahabba (state festival) of Mysore State and Mysore is well known for the festivities that take place during the Dasara period. Also termed as Navaratri (meaning nine-nights), it is a 10-day festival usually held during the months of Sep-Oct. During this period, various cultural and religious programs highlighting the dance, music and culture of the state of Mysore are held. Even musicians and dancers from out-of-state are invited to give performances. Mysore Palace is illuminated on all the 10 days and prominent cultural programs are held in the grounds surrounding the palace. The festivities are started with a pooja performed to the Goddess Chamundeshwari atop the Chamundi Hills in the presence of the Wodeyar royal couple, high ranking officials in the Mysore State Government and other invitees. When Mysore was ruled by the Wodeyars, it was a practice for the King to give a special audience to the people during the Dasara which was popularly termed as Dasara durbar. This Durbar was participated by dignitaries and was a very disciplined and orderly affair. The current scion of the Wodeyar family now holds a private Durbar.

One of the main attractions of the festival is the Dasara exhibition which starts during the Dasara and continues for around 2 months. It is held in Doddakere Maidan (grounds opposite to the Mysore Palace) and contains stalls selling articles like clothing, plastic and glass ware, food stalls, stalls highlighting the various departments of Mysore Government and also a play area where people can participate in games and amusement rides.
Another attraction is the wrestling tournament which is held in the Devraj Urs stadium adjoining the Dasara exhibition grounds. It is participated by wrestlers from around India and attracts a sizeable audience.

JAIPUR the pink city

Jaipur, also popularly known as the Pink City, historically sometimes rendered as Jeypore, is the capital of Rajasthan state, India. Jaipur is also the capital of Jaipur District. Jaipur is the former capital of a princely state of the same name. The city was founded in 1728 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh, the ruler of Amber. The population in 2003 was approximately 2.7 million.

Jaipur is considered by many urbanists to be one of the best planned cities. In the 19th century the city grew rapidly and became prosperous, with a population of 160,000 in 1900, and the city's wide boulevards were paved and lit with gas. Its chief industries were in metals and marble, which are fostered by a school of art, founded in 1868. There was also a wealthy and enterprising community of native bankers. The city had three colleges and several hospitals.
During the British Raj, Jaipur was the capital of a princely state of the same name. Jaipur state, which existed from the twelfth century until Indian Independence in 1947, took its name from the city. It had a total area of 15,579 square miles (40,349 km²) in 1900. The maharajas of Jaipur belonged to the Kachwaha clan of Rajputs, claiming descent from Rama, king of Ayodhya. The state is said to have been founded about 1128 by Dhula Rai, who hailed from Gwalior; he and his Kachwaha kinsmen are said to have absorbed or driven out the petty chiefs. The original capital was Amber. The ruling dynasty of Jaipur provided the Mughal empire with some of their most distinguished generals. Among them were Man Singh, who fought in Orissa and Assam; Jai Singh, commonly known by his imperial title of Mirza Raja, whose name appears in all the wars of Aurangzeb in the Deccan; and Jai Singh II, or Sawai Jai Singh, the famous mathematician and astronomer, and the founder of Jaipur city. Towards the end of the 18th century the Jats of Bharatpur and the chief of Alwar each annexed a portion of the territory of Jaipur. By the end of the eighteenth century the state was in great confusion, distracted by internal broils and impoverished by the exactions of the Marathas. The disputes between the chiefs of Jaipur and Jodhpur had brought both states to the verge of ruin, and Amir Khan, an Afghan adventurer who was leader of the Pindari raiders, was exhausting the country. By a treaty in 1818 the protection of the British was extended to Jaipur and an annual tribute fixed. In 1835 there was a serious disturbance in the city, after which the British government intervened. The state later became well-governed and prosperous. During the Revolt of 1857, the maharaja assisted the British.

Awesome Clouds

A Golden Day

I found you and I lost you,
All on a gleaming day.
The day was filled with sunshine,
And the land was full of May.
A golden bird was singing
Its melody divine,
I found you and I loved you,
And all the world was mine.
I found you and I lost you,
All on a golden day,
But when I dream of you,
dear, It is always brimming May.

Tips For Makeup

. Hair color
Your hair color should also be in harmony with your skin. If you have dark hair and you want to add color, keep it close to the same shade. If you have light hair, use light colors. As you age your skin will lighten, so should your hair color. One last thing about hair color - if you do color you hair be sure you keep it up, don't let your roots show.
.
One last thing
Keep makeup looking fresh all day by doing regular touch ups. Don't let your makeup fade or crease. Smile!!!

. Too little or no makeup
Some women don't wear makeup because they are not sure how to use it and are afraid of being overdone. If you are unsure, start will light colours in your shade. Start slowly and add one product at a time. Maybe start with foundation, add mascara, blush or lipstick. If you are not used to wearing makeup, using a lot a first may be a little too much for you, so start slowly. The bottom line is a little is better than none. If you are still unsure seek professional advice.
.
Overall look
When your makeup is completed it should look natural. That means avoiding colours that clash. If you have dark skin and hair you will look better in darker shades; light colours will make you look washed out. If your hair and skin tone are light, light colours will look better on you. Dark makeup will make you look older and harsh. If you haveoily skin, first use oil control moisturizer and foundation. Then be sure to wear loose powder, keeping pressed powder with you for touch ups.

. Lips
Apply lip liner to completely cover the lips, add color and your lipstick will stay on much longer. Make sure your lip liner doesn't show. Also, your lip color should match your skin tone; wear cool colors if you have cool coloring and warm colors if you have warm coloring. If you want to make your lips look smaller, keep your liner on the inside of your lips. However, if you decide to make your lips look larger, going outside the natural outline of you lips is a mistake. This can look quite messy and unnatural.
.
Appropriate makeup
Wear makeup that is appropriate for the occasion. If you are going to the beach you shouldn't wear the same or as much makeup as you would if you were going dancing. Also, when you are in daylight your makeup should be a lighter than when you are out for the evening.

. Foundation : Make sure your foundation is the same color as your skin. Foundation is meant to protect and give the face a smooth look. The magic word is blend.
.
Powder : The same holds true for powder - not too much. Also, be sure to blend your makeup so there are no obvious lines

. Avoid wearing too much
Makeup is meant to enhance features not bring negative attention to you. That's what wearing too much makeup will do; it will bring you unwanted attention. Don't wear too much of anything such as:
.
Eyeliner : dark, thick eyeliner will make you look overdone and will ruin the rest of your makeup.
.
Mascara : too much mascara looks fake and will flake. It looks especially bad if worn with thick eyeliner or dark blue eye eye shadow.
